Pilots for European Digital Identity Wallet. Largest of the first wave of Large Scale Pilots, concluded in 2025. Focused on six sectors: government services, banking, telecommunications, mobile driving licences, electronic signatures and health.
Scope
- Government identification, including SCA for online services
- Banking, account opening, KYC
- Telecommunications, SIM registration
- Mobile driving licence (mDL) under ISO/IEC 18013-5
- Electronic signatures aligned with eIDAS 2 trust services
- Health, including the European Health Insurance Card and patient records
